On the 28th of January we had a great honor to fly for the manufacturer of the Gripen fighter aircraft. We have been to Hungary: Kecskemét military airbase and Békéscsaba regional airport. In January 2008 We received the order to fly from Sweden to the Hungarian military base in Kecskemét, near Budapest. The reason to fly to Hungary was the ceremony for the delivery of the last Gripen fighters, from a total number of 14 ordered by Hungary. So we can say, that our SAAB has visited his younger, armed brothers. In the meantime our passengers were taking part in the ceremony with both the Ministry of Defense from Sweden and that of Hungary, we went to Békéscsaba regional airport for refueling. For Békéscsaba our visit has been a great event, because the SAAB 340 is the biggest airplane which can operate there and the biggest airplane which has ever visited Békéscsaba. The whole operation couldn’t have happened without help from our friends from Hungary: Gabor, Laszlo, Janos, Peter and Laszlo, so this way we say thank you for them.

Last week we have left our small office situated in the passenger terminal in Wroclaw and we have moved to the new, comfortable office. The new SkyTaxi's office is located at the cargo part of Wroclaw airport. To reach our office just follow cargo signs. We also changed our general phone number. Actual one is +48 71 3490 440, fax number is still the same +48 71 358 1212. And the last news is that we are now available in Internet also at the www.skytaxi.eu and www.iga.aero addresses.

Once, in the recent past we have organized a very special event, the joint anti-terrorist training.
As an European Union registered airline we are obligated to do security practice within the fixed period. So, together with the Special Anti-terrorist Police Unit from Wroclaw we have performed the simulation of the anti-terrorist action. All the event has took place on the apron at the Wroclaw airport. The aim of the training was the preparation for would-be action in the future and learning of cooperation between Police squad and the crew. Providing such an even should help everyone find his best way to provide the action under real thread circumstances.
Below you can find some nice pictures from that training (all photos thanks to Cichy)

During almost two years of SkyTaxi activity with the SAAB 340 aircraft we have been to many countries and many places, but in our opinion flying to the former Soviet countries is the most exciting challenge. Operations in Belarus, Russian Federation or Ukraine, or even in Georgia always requires very thorough preparation on several fields: overflight and landing permissions, handling, hotel accommodation, fueling and sometimes local navigator supervision. Together with our aviation business partners we always provide the best service. Step by step we are becoming a specialist of such flights, and step by step we are growing to like them very much. During our operations to the mentioned Eastern European countries we have transported for example people from the company for opening a new factory, volleyball, basketball, handball, football teams for their games, football supporters, a group of men for fishing sturgeons, people for Christmas holidays, an official delegation for the investment fair or even deportees and cargo: 3000kg of musical instruments for the South African Navy Orchestra or usual spare parts for the production line. We are very proud of the fact that we carried out our first commercial operation to Moscow. Based on our crew's opinion the most amazing trip was to Wologda, 400km to the North of Moscow. It was in February, and it was -28oC on site. To fly there we were required to have a navigator on board. It appeared after the operation that his presence in the cockpit was really helpful during the flight. Since the beginning of our operations we always give the highest attention to the flights to former Soviet countries. Quite apart from the fact that we like to fly to the East. Maybe a combination of those two things and our team's work is the source of our success. We are pleased to receive any future enquiries regarding flights to this beautiful part of Europe.
Map of our destinations in Belarus, Georgia, Russia and Ukraine.
